WEATHER UPDATE FOR BRUNEI DARUSSALAM 25 NOVEMBER 2020

25 Nov 2020

General Situation:
Negara Brunei Darussalam is currently in the Inter-Monsoon season. During the Inter-Monsoon season, thundershowers are active in the afternoon and at night.

Active weather condition is expected over Brunei Darussalam until the end of this month due to the low pressure system located to the West of Borneo island.

Brunei Darussalam Weather Situation:
Heavy thundershowers are expected to frequently occur by late afternoon until late at night, propagating from inland moving out to coastal and sea areas. This situation is expected until end of this month.

Strong wind of speed up to 50 km/h can also be expected during or near thundershowers.

Meanwhile, wave height over Brunei waters is in Moderate state, up to 1.5 meters, and is dangerous to small boats operators particularly during gusty thundershowers.

Our Advice:
Members of the public are advised to take note of the risk of flash floods especially at low lying and flood prone areas during heavy showers or thundershowers as well as the risk of falling trees during gusty condition.

Public, road users and fisherman are advised to always be up to date with the latest weather forecast, advisory and warning issued by Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department, and to take precaution and any necessary actions to ensure safety.

Our department shall continue to monitor the weather conditions and will issue appropriate weather advisory or warnings if and when necessary.
